A People's War

To hide in a basement. To say goodbye to your children. To bury your friends. These are but some of the horrors borne by millions of Ukrainians who have chosen to stay in their country while War rages nearby. Their presence is an act of resistance, an unwillingness to bend to the violence of those who threaten them, and a reminder that war is not just fought by those on the front lines. It is fought by regular people who volunteer, study, teach and place their lives on the line to help their country survive. Filmed in Ukraine 2024.
